Assessment Services

 A Functional Capacity Evaluation (FCE) assesses an individual’s functional capabilities, limitations, and reliability of effort based on accepted testing protocols to assist in determining functional status for employability.  

A Job Demands Analysis assesses the physical demands of the tasks or duties required in a specific job. A JDA is completed to measure and quantify the physical strength and positional tolerances required in a specific job. 

Ergonomic assessments analyse an individual's current working conditions to identify risk factors and provide an understanding of a workstation or home environment. Recommendations related to physical changes to the environment, provision of assistive devices and education on work postures will be provided. 

A Cost of Future Care Assessment (also known as a Life Care Plan or Future Care Cost Analysis) is a comprehensive evaluation designed to estimate the long-term needs and associated costs for individuals who have sustained injuries or have ongoing medical conditions. These assessments are crucial for securing the necessary funding and support for individuals with significant care needs, helping them achieve the best possible quality of life.

Occupational Therapy Situational Catastrophic impairment assessments (CAT) are comprehensive evaluations designed to determine how a client with catastrophic impairments function in real-life situations. This evaluation helps identify specific limitations, challenges, and capabilities in activities of daily living (ADLs), instrumental activities of daily living (IADLs), and social participation. 

These assessments are crucial for ensuring that individuals receive the appropriate care and support they need following a catastrophic injury. 

Independent Medical Examinations (IME) are evidenced based, objective and comprehensive medical evaluations.  The primary purpose of an IME is to provide an objective assessment of the individual’s functional status, including their capacity to perform activities of daily living (ADLs), instrumental activities of daily living (IADLs), and social participation. The  IME helps determine the degree of impairment and its impact on the individual’s ability to work or engage in daily activities.
